The Attack at Kondengui - Enough is Enough!

On 22 July 2019, the French neocolonial regime in Cameroon pre-meditatively and viciously attacked prisoners of conscience who are being illegally held at the Kondengui Maximum Security Prison, killing four and injuring several others. The attack followed the initiation of a coordinated protest by prisoners to highlight the needs of schoolchildren in the war-torn region.

This act makes entirely clear that the Cameroon regime has deliberately sought to deceive the international community by false statements and expressions of hope for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. World leaders must respond by immediately ceasing to tolerate deliberate deceptions of this kind, and take immediate steps to hold the Cameroon regime accountable to international human rights standards.

The Ambazonian people have called for a total lockdown of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia in a “Ghost Town” general strike to be held on Monday, 29 July 2019, and Tuesday 30 July 2019, demanding that imprisoned leaders who have been disappeared to unknown locations be immediately returned in sound health. Solidarity protests are being organized in Bogotá, Houston, New York City, and elsewhere.
